Verizon Wireless

  • Managed the large-scale migration and upgrade from a 4G virtualized SMS over NAS system to a 5G containerized SMS over NAS solution. We changed hardware, systems and vendors in this project.
  • Managed the production launch of Short Messaging Service Function for Verizon Wireless. Replacing the existing SMS over NAS solution.
  • Worked closely with Verizon project managers and the vendor to remove obstacles and bring the project to fruition in a timely manner.
  • Migrated from existing SGs-IWF on OpenStack to the new SGs-IWF in a Web Scale environment, using OpenShift.
  • Trained 5 team members shell scripting, python and automation principles.
  • Generated and validated MOPs (Methods of Procedures) for Verizon Wireless operators.
  • Coordinate work with other teams to establish and validate connections and data transfers.

  • Managed 3 large scale production systems. Coordinated the upgrade of each system from OpenStack 1.x to OpenStack 2.x. The upgrade involved moving to new hardware.
  • Managed the production launch SCEF (Service Capability Exposure Function) on the OpenStack platform.
  • Managed the upgrade of SCEF and the move from an OpenStack 1.x platform to OpenStack 2.x platform.
  • Strong Linux skills especially with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu with over 10 years of experience supporting both.
